That other company was making Auxillery rifle Bbl inserts. There was a company in NewHaven Ct in operation at the same time as Parker was up and running in Meriden Ct. The conversion to the Drilling happening aftermarket. The Factory records of those Drillings AFAIK usually shows that the gun left the Factory as a standard SxS shotgun. There are a few 'drillings' around as well with the standard SxS shot bbls and a small bore rifle bbl planted on top of the shotgun bbl's. One bbl a standard shot bbl, the other a rifle caliber. There are some ser#'s that are missing and not retrievable in the records, but generally complete. Will never break or get loose.The gun in question can be searched and how it left Meriden can usually be found. After serial number 50243 onward the address is Philadelphia, while The Sterlingworth Co. Only the first couple of hundred guns have the Wayne Junction address. It is believed that sometime in late 1912 or early 1913 the dressed flush hinge pin guns were introduced. Recessed pin guns are found with serial numbers up to the 62000 range. The so called Sterlingworth recessed pin gun was the first style 12 gauge Sterlingworth produced from 1910 to late 1912 early 1913.
